Why upgrading your eFoil means you can ride with friends

Nearly every reason given for buying a newer eFoil is about the board: more range, better wings, a lighter build. The reason offered in this episode is not about the board at all. It is about who else can be out there with you once you own more than one.

The best part of the upgrade is not the upgrade

eFoiling is a solitary sport by default. One board, one rider, and everyone else watching from a dock. Adding a second setup changes the shape of a session completely, and that is the point being made here: the best thing about moving to a newer board turned out to be the ability to go out with someone rather than past them. It is also the honest reason a scheduled gear review kept getting pushed back.

A session, not a review

Set your expectations accordingly. There is no commentary and no walkthrough in this one. It is a ride with Russell Colestock, a former science teacher, cut to a breakbeat track and left to speak for itself. The full review of the new Lift3 4 foot 2 Pro, drone footage included, was still to come when this went out.

Worth watching for one thing

If you are weighing up whether a second board is an indulgence, watch this as evidence of what it buys. Two riders on the same water at the same time is a different sport from one rider alone, and it is hard to appreciate that from a spec sheet.
