This is the shakedown run, not the verdict. The Lift4 Pro in the 4’2″ size is the high end performance board in the range, and this session is about getting it on the water and seeing what the first impressions actually are before any of the numbers get tested properly.
Lighter, more powerful, and unnervingly quiet
Three things stand out straight away. The board is lighter than what it replaces, it has more power on tap, and it is so close to silent that it reads as slightly creepy the first time you ride it. Noise has been a recurring complaint about earlier generations, so a genuinely quiet board is not a cosmetic improvement. It changes what a session feels like, and it changes how welcome you are on water shared with other people.
The setup being tested
The board is running a 32 inch mast and the LCS system, with several wing combinations in rotation: the Camber Pro 160 front paired with the 36 Glide rear, and the 100 Surf front paired with the 38 Carve rear. That mix covers two quite different rides, a longer gliding setup and a tighter surf oriented one, which is the point of trying them back to back. The full review is held back deliberately until every combination has been ridden and the updated battery packs have been run down for real range and ride time.
The closest thing to wakeboarding without a boat
The framing here is worth repeating if you come from tow sports. Riding like this gets you close to a wakeboard session without the boat, the driver, the truck and trailer, the lift, the bindings, the gloves, the rope, the crew, the fuel, or the seasonal maintenance at both ends of the year. Whatever the final review concludes about the Lift4 Pro, that is the trade the sport is really offering.
