What is being judged
Three qualities are singled out: handling, speed and precision. Those are deliberately the things you cannot read off a specification page. A board can carry a good top speed and still feel vague when you ask it to change direction quickly, and precision only becomes visible when you are trying to put the board somewhere specific rather than just riding a line.
Pushed on a slalom course, with a familiar reference
The board is taken onto a slalom course and ridden to its limits, with a long-owned Lift4 Pro as the point of comparison. Having a board you know intimately on the other side of a test is what makes the differences legible: you are not judging the Ultra L2 against a memory, you are judging it against something you ride constantly.
