Comparing two high performance eFoils on paper tells you almost nothing. Both will list a top speed, both will claim responsiveness, and neither number survives contact with a rider trying to hold a line through a turn. This is the setup for a comparison decided on the water instead.
The two boards, and what is being measured
On one side is the Flite Ultra L2, positioned as an ultra responsive board built for high performance. On the other is a Lift4 Pro, which is the familiar reference point here, the board that has been ridden long enough for any difference to be obvious. The test focuses on three things: handling, speed and precision. Those are the qualities that only show up under pressure, which is why the comparison is run properly rather than as a pair of cruising laps.
Why the slalom course is the right test
The board gets taken onto a slalom course and pushed to its limits. A slalom is a good discriminator because it punishes anything that hesitates: you are asking the foil to change direction repeatedly, on a schedule set by the gates rather than by how the board feels. A board that is fast in a straight line and vague in a transition has nowhere to hide on a course like that.
