Some setups are chosen for comfort and some are chosen because you want to find out what the board will do. This session is the second kind: a Lift5 Pro configured for speed, on open water, with no attempt to make it forgiving.
The parts that make it a speed setup
The front wing is a 100 Surf V2, matched with a 32 Glide stabiliser and driven by an LCS fixed prop. The fixed prop is the deliberate part. A folding prop exists to reduce drag when the motor is off and to survive weed and debris, and a fixed prop trades that away for a cleaner power delivery, which is why it turns up on setups meant for lakes and speed rather than launches and surf. A smaller, faster front wing lowers the drag further and raises the speed the board wants to sit at, in exchange for needing more of your attention low down.
Shot on a 360 camera
The whole episode was filmed on an Insta360 X5. For a speed run that matters, because a 360 capture means the framing gets chosen in editing rather than guessed at while riding, and the horizon and spray around the board are what give a viewer any sense of pace at all.
