Notes from the Marshal

Hey team —
I’m officially inviting all of you (and any of your customers who are interested in racing) to the first real test of the Verdant Ride eFoil Racing League.
I’ve built a full set of tools that automate almost the entire race process:

Register a course, venue, location, date and time
Automatically promote the race to users by proximity (or send private invitations)
Handle RSVPs and keep a live rider list with updates
An iPhone-based optical timing app that captures race times down to 1/60th of a second
Live leaderboard tracking every racer’s times
When the event ends, the system automatically spins up a private social page on the site so everyone can share photos, videos, and talk smack

This is the first live stress-test of the whole system. Unless I get extremely lucky, something will probably break or feel clunky. That’s the point — I want to find the weak spots now so the next ones run clean.
Logistics

We’ll start running racers at 4:30 and keep going until dark
When you arrive, just follow the driveway all the way down to the lake to drop your stuff off

If you have customers who’ve been asking about racing, feel free to invite them too. The more real riders we put through the system, the better the test.
Looking forward to seeing who shows up and what we can break (and then fix).

— Stephan
