Foil Fest in Minnesota: how to actually find out about it

There is an eFoil festival in Minnesota on August 1, and finding out anything concrete about it has been unexpectedly hard. This ninety second episode is what happens when someone asks the organisers the same question enough times to give up waiting for a clear answer.

The question nobody would answer

The question was simple: should this be promoted? It was asked repeatedly. The replies came back cryptic, with some questions answered and others left alone. Eventually the question got rephrased into something easier to settle on your own. Do we want people at Foil Fest, or do we not want people at Foil Fest? Since the whole point of a festival about eFoiling is presumably to have eFoilers at it, the decision was made to promote it regardless.

One event, several names

Part of why it is hard to find is that it does not have a single name. Foil Fest, Twin Cities Foil Fest and Lake Jane Foil Fest all refer to the same day. If you have searched for one of those and found nothing useful, that is why. The fix offered here is a single page on the Verdant Ride homepage, linked as Foil Fest, that either tells you everything you need or, if promoting it turns out to have been the wrong call, tells you nothing at all and goes back to being a secret.

What is actually on

What is known: August 1, hosted by Brooke, with Zen Water Sports and Glide Water Sports both there so you can ride Lift boards and Glide boards, free BAWLS, and coaching for anyone getting on a foil for the first time. Stephan will be there riding and coaching too, so if you turn up, say hello.
