Built from GPX rather than bought
The overlay is assembled from GPX ride data, After Effects and a custom script written for the job. That matters if you make your own eFoil videos, because it means the numbers come from a file your existing devices already produce, not from a subscription tool. Full ride breakdowns with the GPS speed synchronised to the footage are the stated goal, along with releasing the tool so other riders can overlay their own session stats and post them.
Why the number is worth showing
Speed claims in this sport are mostly unverifiable, which is why they get argued about endlessly. Putting the reading on the footage turns a claim into something a viewer can watch happen.
