About Captain
Born in Antigua and seasoned by what feels like every reef, channel, and tidal break in the Eastern Caribbean, Captain Riptide brings a unique flavor to Verdant Ride: equal parts professional sailor, eFoil obsessive, and unapologetic skeptic of slick marketing. After years running catamaran charters out of Antigua, he traded one kind of hydrodynamics for another — and never looked back.
The Captain joined Verdant Ride as a contributor to do the work most reviewers won’t: read the warranty before the unboxing, ride the budget board before crowning the flagship, and ask hard questions of every brand with a press release. His reviews and opinion pieces have the rare combination of sea-legged credibility and absolutely zero patience for nonsense — which is exactly what new eFoil buyers need before spending five figures on a piece of carbon fiber.
When he isn’t writing for Verdant Ride or hosting his podcast, you’ll find him riding flat-water sunsets, arguing about wing chord lengths with anyone who’ll listen, and yes — drinking rum.
