Every hardware hobby grows a faction that treats the brand on the deck as an identity. eFoiling got there fast. Say something good about one manufacturer in public and a certain kind of owner of the other one will show up to explain why you are wrong, and this song, “F the Fliteboys”, is a three minute reply to exactly those people.
It is about the comments, not the boards
Read the lyrics and the target is narrow. It is not Fliteboards, and it is not people who ride them. It is the online behaviour: brand loyalists who cannot hear praise for something new without taking it as an attack, who go after anyone who says so honestly, and who spend more of their day arguing than riding. Punk is the right form for that, because the complaint is a small one deliberately shouted.
The exception the song makes on purpose
The part that gives it away as satire rather than a grudge is the verse near the end. It stops mid attack to say that they are not all the same, and singles out Justin Chait by name as a rider who wins, who is honest and fast, and who is happy to have fun on a LiftX as well. A pure hate song does not do that. The exception is the actual argument: the problem was never the badge on the board.
