What a carve is on a foil
A carve is a banked turn where the foil holds the arc for you. Instead of steering the board across the surface, you lean the whole rig over and let the wing under the water do the work, coming out of the turn still flying. It is the technique that connects one part of a session to the next, and it is why front wing choice and stabilizer setup get argued about so much. Get it right and a session stops being a series of straight runs with slow turnarounds at each end.
