Storm light does something to a lake that no amount of colour grading can fake. This is a ride edit built around that, opening with a very slow motion storm building across flat water before the session itself starts.
The setup doing the work
The board here is a Lift4 Pro running a 100 Surf V2 front wing with a 32 Glide stabiliser, on a high modulus mast, turning a fixed prop with no shroud. That combination is a deliberate speed choice rather than a comfortable all rounder, and the edit is put together to show it: full speed carves out across the lake with the drone chasing rather than hovering.
Speed you can actually check
A real time GPS speed overlay runs on the footage in both miles and kilometres per hour, so the pace of each run is visible rather than implied. It is a small thing that changes how a ride edit reads. Instead of wondering whether a carve looked faster than it was, you can watch the number climb through the run and drop off through the turn.
The pull out
The session was filmed with a DJI Air 3, and it closes with one continuous climb to maximum altitude, holding the rider in frame until there is nothing left on the water but a dot. It is a simple idea and it lands, mostly because the storm sitting on the horizon gives the shot something to be small against.
