This one is short, and it is exactly what the title says: the gear is packed, the trip is on, and the destination is an eFoil meetup in Puerto Rico. There is no riding in it. It is the moment before leaving, filmed in December.
Why the packing is the story
Getting an eFoil to a meetup is not the same as getting a surfboard to a beach. A board, a mast, wings and batteries have to be broken down, protected and moved, and everything you forget stays forgotten until you are home again. Riders who travel with their gear will recognise the small ritual of the last check before the door closes.
Meetups are where the sport is
An eFoil session is usually solitary. A meetup is the opposite, and it is where most riders end up trying somebody else’s board, comparing setups, and finding out how other people ride the same equipment. That is worth packing for.
